I'm Here Now
01:20
|

You know where I’ve been
You know where I’ve been
You know where I’ve been
You know where I’ve been
Takes me so long
to come here, takes long
Took me along
Took me along

I’d say there’s no difference between you and me
but I was wrong
every loving commandment
set to song
sadness drips from my family tree
to the weeds below
Will I grow old?
Have I a half untold?
Should I stay meek?
Or learn to loudly speak?
I have conversations with you
yet I wrestle with the chance you even exist
Still they hold me tight
As a sewn up scarecrow losing sight
Surprised at the shape he is in
It’ll last
What seeds surpass
Will last
Hold fast
What good can last?
In this new cast
I’m not ashamed
when I steal my heart and tame
my former self unchained
Reminded with little cues
my thoughts change in hue
but I’ll always look to you
Loving father honest friend
Humble watcher to the end
Never mastered always mend
Make it better ’til the end

Through the Dark
03:39
|
|||
That was long ago
Count on my fingers
The days I know
The words you taught me
And I learned to go
Inside and outside the fold
Captivated by such matters
Obsessed with the dark
Took me to places
Where I recognized the mark
Apathy and derisive wit
Children now are born with it
Clothed in the finest tatters
Just gold
No further does a heartbeat warrant love
Nor does rain and signs from above
You’ve mastered the metrics
But your measurement’s assured
You’ve lost the word
When did you think you’d fall down?
That was long ago
Count on my fingers
The days I know
The words you taught me
And I learned to go
Inside and outside the fold

So
03:20
|
|||
I am a simple kind of man
Wash the dirt from my nails and hands
As I wait for harvest to yield
I walk the edge of my field
What mystery lies beyond
My own world is gone
I thought this was the only thing in life
How could I be wrong?
For cutting you from me
Older now I see you everywhere
I see you everywhere
As winter unfolds
I learn that this seed shell won’t hold
There is no sun left here
There is just crisp and clear
Cold cutting through your skin
Like daggers on the wind
Where will we hide from him
Older now I see you everywhere
I see you everywhere

Mourning Star

Slip back into the stream
Empty your mind and dream
Of a borderless plane
Let me push you insane
I’m the salt in your field
The fire to the wood
The distortion of real
A whisper “you should…”
Now your defense melts away
It’s time for my stay
Your wish my command
I merely serve with a hidden hand
You’ll have it all:
Nothing
It’s the perfect price:
Everything
Words and numbers on the tip of your thumbs
Count yourself against the crowd of people
living for your silicon eyes
An entire missing generation collapsed before your feet
Where did we build this artificial god?
Now your reach continues to pierce the sky
Sectioned off and quarantined from on high
Why couldn’t you just follow the simple rules
Infinite love and chances yet you act like fools

Fell down and through
your fingers my dear
I’ve landed nowhere
No nutrients bother
with seed from no father
orphanage paradox
So tell me about your idol and preference
recalcitrant pagan or self righteous christian
your god takes your form
there’s something in store
Both called to arms by a build up of sparks
but whose hand strikes the flint to watch as it burns from afar?
oh mourning star
You’ve fallen down and down
Like lightning
why am I so bent over you
what fear could you ever truly evoke
Lying nagging whisper sans his dad
no longer strong yet ironclad
there’s only ever truly been one
The only tutor I’ve ever had
as my brain making all these demands
it called for you to save us both

If I can follow you
through the fields and the hills surrounding
If I can learn of you
through the fields of my mind
If I can teach like you
I would never lift finger
If I can speak with your voice
For just one day…
Where did we go wrong?
(It’s not arrow, I can hear you say away)
[Give me your voice and words]
Capital punishment, everything is the same as it was before
(It’s not of you, I can hear you slaving away)
[I will walk in the shade of your tree]
allow me, allow me
(Oh, it feels like I can’t get away)
[Count me, count me]
(It’s the fate)
[In your shade]

Come Back to Us
03:37
|
|||
I’ve been walking for days just to outrun my shadow
The voice laughs in the back of my mind
As my feet fail me my tears flow free
Ignoring their existence the people to and fro
Just to find my peace I have failed you
Selfish thoughts that pull sight like a stream-
-of colors once serene now lost me
I don’t look back for fear my demon parade has caught up to me
don’t close your eyes just wander
don’t let the apparitions take you away
saltwater from my eyes make it to my mouth
don’t let them know you don’t fail for them
my apparitions stay static in my mind
have I died?
Who am I?

I miss you
I miss you
How good the memories
We know they fade but none shall be taken away
We owe so much to you
Only wish you were here to see us grow
Now great grand children are on the way
They will know your name

Two Olive Trees

It starts the same way every time
Learning nothing from my previous times
What good is this consciousness
In my eyes I only use them
One sense to fall for every senseless field and home
But if I fit in with the snake oil salesman
Will I feel better at the end
Proving that you get lost in the side you try to change from within
There is not enough time to win
So they’ll repeat what I told and I will do and do it first
But it’s nothing real
Is it right for me to give up on you when I can barely can hold myself
Is it right for you to look at me like I have three heads
Is it right for them to look on in awe as we burst into flame and cloud
Is cool for us to think that we’re just more than ever ineffable
but in my absent mind
but in this absent time
where are we
to stay upon this earth

I have nothing to add to you
We all talk and talk
But who is who?
A lawless man stands upon the hill. Calling up strength from unseen places. His hands hypnotic, facilitated by his silver tongue. “What good are you without the other?” he jests with the symbols of diversity stricken across his chest.
A pre-guided world divided and conquered. Ripe for such synthetic unity. All who see beneath the surface are marked, soon to be tarred and feathered, mere months from losing their heads. First starved of any financial ability to keep themselves alive, or their families. Then called out by their friends, relatives, pariahs of the masses. A second holocaust that the entire world will take part.
“How could you object to any other?” The masses speak, devoid of identity, gender, race and morals.
They imbibe lawlessness, like the very bread and water of god.

Something’s coming, it’s been weighing on my mind for more than 10 years. With less than a year left, everything else blurs, in the shadow of a year’s worth of dread. I’ve sinned to stay here, grounded myself in earthly pleasures. I am not worthy of being caught up with you, leave me here. I just want to try and prove myself to you. I think I could do so much more on the front lines, but I know deep down inside that what I’m about to witness will hurt me so.
Pray the day away, why am I afraid?
As if I could freeze time, or speed it up and pay
Kept my eyes low, in the hopes it’d somehow make me invisible
But it looks like my skins about to glow
Set in stone palindrome
Set in stone palindrome

So it’s come to this standing in this field alone
So it’s come to this I am awake
All of the stars are drowning out can’t see the clouds
My hands disappear
When I raise them towards anything I thought near
Time to go
‘thought it was time to go
No sunshine to show
How we measure the days
Measure the years
Measure the dawning of this fear
It’s time to go
Time to go
Leave me here
Leave me hear
Go and come and go and come
Go and come and go and come
Go and come and go and come

Call me out through the ground
Call me out through the walls in this town
Call me out through the ground
Call me out through the walls in this town
I’ve been waiting for you
I’ve been saving a seat
Tell them why I’m not yet alive
In this containing pool of memory
Sift through the rocks, salt and sand
Pull me from this land
Plant me in some earth which knows no hearth
Molten metal shall I no longer be
See you soon
See you soon
See you soon
See you soon

Now it’s all old and it’s all old and it doesn’t age no
I saw the shadow of the truth in you
and you and your friends smile again
and I’m alright
What little things we know we don’t know
Could anyone be closer than you were to me?
Simply to the point
I’d rather you are happy
Than hold you here
It’s all i know
It’s all i know
Now it’s all old and it’s all old and it doesn’t age no
